1.0 — Our Family Habits on iOS and Android

Our Family Habits 1.0 is here. The iOS app is live on the App Store and the Android app is live on Google Play, alongside a friendlier onboarding flow, a simpler mobile dashboard, in-app subscriptions, account deletion, and a weekly digest email for Power-ups families.

It's launch day. After a few months of building in the open, Our Family Habits 1.0 is live on the App Store and Google Play. Here's everything that shipped since the April 27 update.

iOS and Android, on day one

The mobile app is available on both stores:

Same family on every device. Sign in once on each phone or tablet and everything stays in sync with the web app. Push notifications, deep links into individual habits and rewards, a system-following status bar, and a native share sheet for the referral link — all wired up.

The kiosk view runs full-screen on a spare tablet on the counter. The same one your kids already know from the web.

A friendlier onboarding

First-time families used to land in an empty house. Now the setup walks you through the basics — adding your first kid, picking a couple of starter actions from the library, setting up your first reward — before handing you the keys. The seed action and reward library is bigger and better organized, so you can pick a few that already fit your family instead of writing every action from scratch.

A simpler mobile dashboard

The home screen on the phone got quieter. Each kid's progress is the first thing you see — points today, habits left, last earned. The clutter that made sense on a laptop didn't translate to a phone, so we cut it.

In-app subscriptions

Power-ups are now available through your App Store or Google Play account. Start the 7-day free trial right inside the app — no detour to a web checkout, no separate account to manage. The web checkout still works for families who prefer it, and Restore Purchases is there for anyone reinstalling the app on a new device.

The trial and renewal terms are spelled out clearly before you ever tap subscribe.

Delete your account, from your account

You can now permanently delete your account and all your family's data from Settings → Account → Danger zone. Type DELETE to confirm. If you're the only parent in your family, the family and every kid, action, reward, and history record is removed too.

(Active subscriptions through the App Store or Play Store stay billable until you cancel them in your device's subscription settings — those live with your store account, not with us.)

Weekly digest email (Power-ups)

Subscribed families can now opt in to a Sunday morning email summarizing the week — what each kid earned, what's growing, gentle nudges for the week ahead. The in-app digest from the April update is still free; the email is a Power-up.

Toggle from Settings → Account → Email notifications.

Smaller polish

  • Push notifications now prompt once after sign-in instead of springing on you cold. Toggle on or off anytime from Account.
  • Parent avatars are an emoji picker now — quick to set, easy for kids to recognize.
  • A confirmation step before removing a kid from your family — we'd rather an extra tap than an accidental delete.
  • Multi-action and multi-reward award flow streamlined further.
  • Dark mode and status bar polish across iOS and Android.
  • Kiosk display bug on tablets fixed.
  • Quick mode no longer scroll-jumps at the top.
  • Faster page loads with smarter image priorities.
