Smoother sign-up, sturdier resets, and a real contact form
Finishing sign-up is now a quick 6-digit code instead of an email link. Password reset links stopped getting 'used up' by accident. And the contact page now has a proper form with a subject picker.
A handful of housekeeping updates this week — the kind you don't notice when they work, but that quietly made a few people's first five minutes harder than they should have been. We fixed those.
A simpler way to finish sign-up
Creating your family used to mean: sign up, switch to your email, click a link, and land back in a brand-new browser tab. For a lot of people that link took a while to arrive, opened in the wrong place, or — because some email providers quietly "click" every link to scan it — was already spent by the time you got there.
Now you just get a 6-digit code. Type it into the same tab you started in, and you're in. No new windows, no hunting for the right tab, and nothing a background scanner can use up before you do. Copy-paste works too.
If a code doesn't show up, there's a Resend button right there, and tapping it clears the box so you can drop the fresh one straight in.
Password reset links that don't break on the first try
Resetting your password should be forgiving. Previously, if anything hiccuped while you were setting the new one, the reset link could get "used up" — and you'd be stuck asking for another.
We rebuilt that flow. Your reset link now stays good until you actually finish changing your password (or it naturally expires after an hour). A slow connection or a mistyped confirmation won't cost you the link anymore.
A contact form that actually sends
The contact page was just an email address. Now it's a real form — pick a subject (general question, support, billing, a bug, press, or a story to share), write your note, and send. It lands straight in our inbox, and replies come right back to you. Prefer plain email? That option's still there too.
A fresh coat of paint
You'll also spot the full Our Family Habits wordmark on the sign-in, sign-up, and reset screens, and across the emails we send — tidier, and easier to recognize in a crowded inbox. It follows your device's light or dark mode automatically.
Small stuff, but it's the front door — and we wanted it to feel right. Run into anything rough? The new form is the fastest way to tell us: hello@ourfamilyhabits.com.
